Okay – not that I’m counting (yes, I am), but The Walking Dead starts in 24 nights! I love this show for a variety of reasons:
- The characters are deep and relatable
- The zombie piece is that … just a piece. It’s more about how everyday people work through a very bad situation
- The acting is fantastic
- The characters are appealing and I root for them
- The bad guys are not caricatures of villains
I really would LOVE LOVE LOVE to be an extra on this show, but it’s filmed in Atlanta. Not exactly around the corner. But … a girl can dream.
I met two of the actors at one of the comic cons that I volunteered at last year: Norman Reedus and Michael Rooker (whom I have loved as an actor for years). Here’s a picture of me volunteering with Norman Reedus. I was “crowd control” -> I missed taking a picture of the woman who brought her service chicken. Reedus was very kind to her as she asked him to pet her chicken.
This is the autographed photo of Michael Rooker that we got for our friends at Stanfords in Clackamas. They are all big The Walking Dead fans and they treat us very well, so we spoiled them a little bit. Michael Rooker was a very awesome and gracious guest.
The next month, we went to Emerald City Comic Con and met Danai Gurira (Michonne):
I’m really anxious for 24 days to go by… but they will soon enough.
